Vice Versa Global Festival
The Experience
Vice Versa Global Festival
At Najuma’s House, we believe immersive storytelling can be a powerful tool for social change. For the first edition of the Vice Versa Global Festival, we developed a unique Virtual Reality (VR) experience that visualized the entire festival layout and program before it was brought to life on March 11, 2023.
The VR experience offered partners, sponsors, and organizers a full-scale interactive walkthrough of the festival’s diverse offerings , from panel discussion spaces and music stages to poetry corners, art stalls. Attendees could explore how the self-defense demonstration by Hellen Baleke, the poetry sets by Echo Minds Poets, and the “Hot Potato” game zone would be laid out, all within a virtual environment.
This pre-event visualization allowed stakeholders to experience the festival’s dynamic atmosphere in advance, enhancing program coordination, inviting feedback, and sparking excitement. More than just a preview, the VR model reflected the festival’s vibrant themes of Equity and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) awareness, celebrating young Ugandan creatives and activists in a visionary way.
By merging technology with advocacy, our VR build amplified the festival’s core message: we can do it together we can drive change.
